Pyrimebria
Botrytis control that keeps working in the cold and wet.

Pyrimebria is an anilinopyrimidine fungicide based on pyrimethanil, aimed at grey mould (Botrytis) in vine, strawberry, tomato and soft fruit, and at scab in pome fruit. Its practical advantage is that it performs at low temperatures, when Botrytis does its worst damage and many other fungicides slow down. It also moves in vapour phase, reaching the dense interior of a bunch or a fruit cluster that a spray cannot penetrate.
Characteristics
- Specialist grey mould (Botrytis) activity
- Works well at low temperatures, when Botrytis pressure peaks
- Vapour-phase movement reaches the interior of bunches and clusters
- Also active against scab in pome fruit
- FRAC Group 9 — unrelated to triazoles, strobilurins and SDHIs
- Valuable resistance-rotation partner in Botrytis programmes
How it works
Pyrimethanil inhibits the secretion of the hydrolytic enzymes the fungus uses to break down and penetrate plant tissue, and interferes with methionine biosynthesis. The fungus is stopped at the point of penetration rather than after it has established. FRAC Group 9.
Dosing
| Crop | Target disease | Dose | PHI (days) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vineyard | Grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) | 100 ml/100 L water | 21 |
| Tomato | Grey mould | 125 ml/100 L water | 3 |
| Bell pepper (greenhouse) | Grey mould | 125 ml/100 L water | 3 |
| Apple | Scab | 50 ml/100 L water | 14 |
Doses are indicative. The user is responsible for adjusting the dose to the growth stage of the crop and the conditions of the field. Apply under the guidance of an agricultural technician. Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
