Diflubria is an insect growth regulator based on diflubenzuron. It blocks chitin synthesis, so a treated larva cannot form the new cuticle it needs at its next moult and dies in the attempt. It is highly specific to moulting insects, which makes it one of the gentler options for beneficial adults, and it is a standard tool against codling moth, leafminers and pear psyllid.

Cómo actúa
Diflubenzuron inhibits chitin synthase, the enzyme that builds the structural polymer of the insect cuticle. The larva cannot form a functional new exoskeleton at moulting and dies. Adults are unaffected, so the product must be timed at egg hatch and early larval stages. IRAC Group 15.
