Cuprocop is a protective fungicide based on copper oxychloride at 50%. Copper attacks fungal cells at many sites at once rather than one, which is why no meaningful resistance has developed against it in over a century of use — and why it anchors any programme built on single-site chemistry. Oxychloride is the gentler of the two classic coppers on foliage, which makes it the usual choice for in-season sprays.

Características

  • Multi-site activity — no practical resistance risk
  • Gentler on foliage than Bordeaux mixture, so better suited to in-season use
  • Broad label: olive, vine, tomato, apricot, potato, peach and citrus
  • Forms a persistent protective film on the leaf surface
  • Secondary bactericidal activity
  • FRAC Group M1 — the anchor for resistance management

Cómo actúa

Copper ions released from the oxychloride bind sulphydryl groups in fungal enzymes and denature their proteins, disrupting respiration and membrane function at many points simultaneously. The product is not absorbed by the plant, so it protects only the tissue it covers — new growth needs a new application. FRAC Group M1.

Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.

Aplicación

Modo de empleo

Olive peacock spot: first application just before autumn shoots appear; second when flower buds become noticeable, before the flowers open. Vineyard downy mildew: first at 25-30 cm shoot length, then every 15 days while temperature, rainfall, humidity and dew favour infection; stop when conditions no longer do. Peach leaf curl: one application as buds swell. Apricot shot hole: first immediately after leaf fall in autumn, second at the pink bud stage before flowers open, third when calyx leaves and stamens are shed from the fruit tip. Potato late blight: start when humidity favours infection or symptoms appear nearby, repeat at 10-day intervals. Tomato early blight: start at the first spots and repeat at 10-day intervals.

Compatibilidad

Do not mix with solutions below pH 6.5 — phytotoxic burning will occur. Conduct a small-scale test before any mixture.

Realice siempre una prueba de compatibilidad antes de preparar una mezcla en tanque.

Seguridad y manipulación

Causes skin irritation and serious eye damage. Very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Toxic to fish and to bees — do not apply during flowering, do not contaminate water sources. Do not re-enter treated fields for 3 days. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

Read the label before use. Do not use at home. Keep away from children, food and animal feed. Use only as recommended and at the recommended dose.
