Dimebria
Systemic organophosphate control in fruit, olive and industrial crops.

Dimebria is a systemic organophosphate insecticide based on dimethoate. Absorbed through the leaf and moved within the plant, it reaches sucking and mining pests that shelter where a contact spray cannot follow — aphid colonies inside curled shoots, leafminer larvae in their tunnels, and the larvae of olive fruit fly inside the fruit. The label is centred on pome and stone fruit, olive and specialist industrial crops.
Characteristics
- Systemic — reaches pests inside leaves, shoots and fruit
- Strong performance on the olive complex: fruit fly, flower midge, leaf moth
- Effective on aphids, leafminers and leafrollers in pome and stone fruit
- Contact and stomach activity alongside systemic movement
- High active loading at 400 g/l
- Widely used and well understood by growers in the region
How it works
Dimethoate and its metabolite omethoate inhibit acetylcholinesterase. Acetylcholine builds up at the nerve synapse, transmission runs continuously, and the insect dies of convulsive paralysis. Antidote: atropine sulphate and toxogonin. IRAC Group 1B.

Application
How to apply
Wet the plant thoroughly, using underleaf nozzles to reach the underside of foliage. Apple aphids: treat at 5-15 infested shoots or 5-10 colonies per 100 shoots. Olive fruit fly: begin as soon as a single adult is observed; monitor by counting punctures on at least 1000 fruits on the southeast side of the tree 1-2 times per week and treat at 1% punctured fruit in table varieties, 6-8% in oil varieties. Olive moth: focus on the fruit stage — treat when 10% of lentil-sized fruits carry live eggs or larvae.
Compatibility
Conduct a preliminary compatibility test before mixing with other plant protection products.
Always carry out a compatibility test before preparing a tank mixture.
Safety and handling
Flammable liquid and vapour. Harmful if swallowed, in contact with skin or if inhaled; causes skin irritation. Toxic to fish and to bees — do not apply during flowering. Do not re-enter the treated area for 7 days. Antidote: ATROPINE SULFATE and TOXOGONIN, administered by a physician.
Read the label before use. Do not use at home. Keep away from children, food and animal feed. Use only as recommended and at the recommended dose.
