Pendibria
Pre-emergence control — the weeds never come up at all.

Pendibria is a pre-emergence herbicide based on pendimethalin. Rather than killing established weeds it forms a treated layer in the top few centimetres of soil, and germinating seedlings die as they grow through it. Applied before or immediately after planting it keeps the field clean through the crop's most vulnerable weeks, and it has the practical advantage of a different mode of action from every other herbicide in the range.
Characteristics
- Pre-emergence — weeds are stopped as they germinate
- Keeps the field clean through the crop's most vulnerable early weeks
- Broad spectrum on annual grasses and broadleaf weeds
- HRAC Group K1/3 — no cross-resistance with the ALS or ACCase products in the range
- Reduces reliance on post-emergence chemistry
- Long soil persistence through the critical period
How it works
Pendimethalin binds tubulin and prevents the assembly of microtubules, so cells cannot complete division. Germinating seedlings die as they push through the treated soil layer. It needs moisture — rainfall or irrigation after application — to move into position, and it does not control weeds that have already emerged. HRAC Group K1/3.
Dosing
| Crop | Weeds controlled | Dose and timing |
|---|---|---|
| Sunflower | Wild mustard, false flax, black bindweed, shepherds purse, charlock, thistle, pigweed, cocklebur, barnyard grass, downy brome, knotweed, field pansy, proso millet, Russian thistle, lambsquarters | Pre-planting 500 ml/ha (incorporated before planting) |
| Corn | Wild mustard, goosefoot, barnyard grass, scarlet pimpernel, tansy mustard, purslane, volunteer potato | Pre-planting 500 ml/ha; pre-emergence 500 ml/ha |
Doses are indicative. The user is responsible for adjusting the dose to the growth stage of the crop and the conditions of the field. Apply under the guidance of an agricultural technician. Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
