Glybria
Total, systemic weed control — down to the root and the rhizome.

Glybria is a non-selective systemic herbicide based on glyphosate isopropylamine salt at 480 g/l. Absorbed through green tissue and carried in the phloem to the growing points, it kills the whole plant including roots and rhizomes — which is why it succeeds against perennials such as bermudagrass, johnsongrass, purple nutsedge and field bindweed where a contact herbicide only burns off the top. Registered for citrus, hazelnut, vineyard, orchards and non-crop areas.
Characteristics
- Systemic to the root and rhizome — controls established perennial weeds
- Very broad spectrum: annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds and sedges
- Registered for orchards, vineyard, citrus, hazelnut and non-crop areas
- Also registered against shrubby and woody vegetation, and bank and water-surface weeds
- No residual soil activity — replanting is not restricted by carryover
- High load at 480 g/l
How it works
Glyphosate inhibits EPSP synthase in the shikimate pathway, which plants use to make the aromatic amino acids phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan. Protein synthesis stops, the plant yellows from the growing points and dies over one to three weeks. Animals have no shikimate pathway. HRAC Group G / Group 9.
Dosing
| Situation | Weeds controlled | Dose | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus, hazelnut, vineyard, orchards and non-crop areas | Annual grasses and broadleaf weeds (Alopecurus, Amaranthus spp., Avena sterilis, Bromus sterilis, Chenopodium album, Echinochloa spp., Phalaris spp., Portulaca oleracea, Setaria viridis, Sinapis arvensis, Stellaria media, Xanthium spp. and others) | 300 ml/da | Young, actively growing weeds |
| Various locations | Perennial weeds (Artemisia vulgaris, Convolvulus arvensis, Cyperus rotundus, Cynodon dactylon, Sorghum halepense, Urtica dioica) | 1000 ml/ha | Active growth phase |
| Various locations | Shrubby and woody plants; bank and water-surface weeds | 1000-1500 ml/ha | Active growth phase |
Doses are indicative. The user is responsible for adjusting the dose to the growth stage of the crop and the conditions of the field. Apply under the guidance of an agricultural technician. Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
Application
How to apply
Results are best when weeds are actively growing. Take care not to contact the green parts of the crop or the young, unlignified stems of seedlings. Use 20-40 litres of water per hectare with a fan nozzle, and apply during the cooler hours of the day in calm or low-wind conditions. Because the product is systemic, allow at least 4-5 days after application before any soil cultivation that would damage the weeds and interrupt translocation.
Compatibility
Not recommended for mixing with other products. Do not use zinc or galvanised containers to prepare the spray solution.
Always carry out a compatibility test before preparing a tank mixture.
Safety and handling
Causes serious eye damage. Toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Toxic to fish — avoid contaminating surface and groundwater. Do not apply during flowering to protect bees. Wear gloves, protective clothing and eye protection. Do not re-enter the treated area for 1 day.
Read the label before use. Do not use at home. Keep away from children, food and animal feed. Use only as recommended and at the recommended dose.
