Clodibria
Post-emergence grass control in wheat, with a safener that protects the crop.

Clodibria is a selective post-emergence herbicide for grass weeds in wheat. What sets it apart is the safener built into the formulation: it accelerates the wheat plant's own ability to break the herbicide down, so the crop metabolises the product while the weeds cannot. Wild oat, darnel, canarygrass and blackgrass stop growing within 48 hours of application; yellowing and death follow over one to three weeks.
Characteristics
- Selective on wheat thanks to an integrated safener — the crop tolerates it very well
- Controls the main grass weeds of cereals: wild oat, darnel, canarygrass, blackgrass
- Weeds cease active growth within 48 hours of application
- Rain 2-3 hours after application does not reduce efficacy
- Minimal soil persistence — full flexibility in crop rotation
- Low rate: 20 ml/da
How it works
Clodinafop-propargyl inhibits acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase), the enzyme grasses require to build fatty acids. Without it the growing points cannot form new membrane, so the meristem rots, the youngest leaves yellow and the plant dies. Broadleaf crops and weeds have a different ACCase form and are unaffected. HRAC Group A / Group 1.
Dosing
| Crop | Weeds controlled | Dose | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wheat | Wild oat (Avena sterilis), darnel (Lolium temulentum), short-awned canarygrass (Phalaris brachystachys), blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides), sterile wild oat | 20 ml/da | Preferably early tillering; no later than the end of tillering |
Doses are indicative. The user is responsible for adjusting the dose to the growth stage of the crop and the conditions of the field. Apply under the guidance of an agricultural technician. Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
Application
How to apply
Apply post-emergence, from the 3-leaf stage to the tillering stage of wheat. Use 20-40 litres of water per hectare with a fan nozzle. Do not apply within 2 hours of expected rainfall. The product has no residual activity on grasses that emerge after treatment, so timing against the existing flush is what determines the result.
Compatibility
DO NOT mix this product with other crop protection products.
Always carry out a compatibility test before preparing a tank mixture.
Safety and handling
