Fludiobria
Seed and seedling protection against both true fungi and the water moulds.

Fludiobria pairs fludioxonil with metalaxyl, and the logic of the combination is that the two halves cover completely different organisms. Fludioxonil handles the true fungi — Fusarium, Rhizoctonia — while metalaxyl handles the oomycetes, the water moulds such as Pythium and Phytophthora that most fungicides do not touch at all. Together they cover the full damping-off complex that kills seedlings before they establish.
Characteristics
- Covers both true fungi and oomycete water moulds — few products do both
- Fludioxonil controls Fusarium and Rhizoctonia
- Metalaxyl controls Pythium and Phytophthora
- Protects the seed and seedling through the damping-off window
- FRAC Groups 12 and 4 — two unrelated modes of action
- Low rates; applied to the seed rather than the field
How it works
Fludioxonil disrupts the fungal osmotic signal-transduction pathway, so the cell cannot regulate its water balance. Metalaxyl inhibits ribosomal RNA synthesis specifically in oomycetes — organisms which, despite looking like fungi, are biologically closer to algae and are untouched by most fungicides. FRAC 12 + 4.
Dosing
| Crop | Target disease | Dose | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corn | Seedling root rot and blight (Pythium spp., Fusarium moniliforme) | 100 ml/100 kg seed | Seed treatment |
| Cotton | Seedling root rot (Alternaria spp., Rhizoctonia solani) | 300 ml/100 kg dry seed; 500 ml/100 kg soaked seed | Seed treatment |
| Pepper (field) | Damping-off and root rot in seedbeds (Rhizoctonia spp., Pythium spp.) | 10 ml / 4 L water | PHI 14 days |
Doses are indicative. The user is responsible for adjusting the dose to the growth stage of the crop and the conditions of the field. Apply under the guidance of an agricultural technician. Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
